Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Between the Noise ("BTN", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit betweenthenoise.com.au (the "Site"). This policy applies to the Site only — our Diffuse platform has its own separate Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which govern how Diffuse itself handles data for its customers.
We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
Contact form submissions — name, email address, mobile number (optional), and any message content you choose to provide when you get in touch with us. Submitting the form sends this information, via Postmark (our transactional email provider), as an email notification to our Between the Noise inbox — you'll also receive an automatic confirmation email at the address you provided. Our inbox automatically forwards that notification into Diffuse, our own business platform, which creates a contact record from your enquiry (your name, email, and mobile number if provided) and logs your message against it, so we can track and follow up on it — see "Data storage & security" below for what that means in practice.
Basic usage/analytics data — such as pages visited, browser type, device type, and general location (e.g. city/region), collected automatically via Google Analytics (GA4), which sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors. No other tracking tool is used on this Site.
We do not collect payment information or account credentials through this Site. If you submit an enquiry via the contact form, you are contacting us as a prospective customer or contact of BTN — you are not creating a Diffuse user account, and your enquiry is handled within our own internal Diffuse workspace, separate from how Diffuse's own customers use the platform (which is governed by Diffuse's own Privacy Policy, linked above).
2. How we use it
We use the information collected through this Site to:
- Respond to enquiries submitted via the contact form
- Understand how visitors use the Site, so we can improve it
- Communicate with you if you've asked to hear from us (e.g. about Diffuse, In Key, or other BTN projects)
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except where necessary to operate the Site itself (e.g. our hosting provider, Vercel; our email provider, Postmark) or where required by law.
3. Cookies
This Site uses Google Analytics (GA4), which sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to help us understand how visitors use the Site. No other cookies are set. You can disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so will not affect your ability to use the Site or submit the contact form, but may limit our ability to measure Site usage.
4. Data storage & security
When you submit the contact form, it is sent via email (using our email provider, Postmark) to an inbox we use for managing sales enquiries. That inbox automatically forwards the notification into Diffuse, our own business platform, which creates a contact record from your enquiry and logs your message against it within Diffuse's database — the same secure database infrastructure Diffuse uses for its platform customers (see Diffuse's Privacy Policy for details on encryption and data protection). A copy of the original email also remains in our inbox, subject to Postmark's security practices. This Site itself is hosted on Vercel. Access to this information is limited to Between the Noise staff for the purpose of responding to your enquiry — it is not used to populate any Diffuse customer workspace, and is not shared with Diffuse platform customers.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
5. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of information we no longer need for a legitimate purpose
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
